Heavy Duty Industrial Wire Decking - 2,000 kgs Galvanized Wire Mesh Deck

Heavy duty industrial wire decking is a galvanized steel wire mesh panel that sits on pallet racking beams to form a solid, open-grid load surface. Rated at 2,000kg uniformly distributed load, it carries loose cartons and full pallets without the load bearing directly on the beams.

Panels are robotically fusion welded from 4-5 mm high-tensile cold-rolled steel wire and hot-dip galvanized at 60 g/m2 or above for corrosion resistance in cold stores and humid environments. The open grid allows air circulation, light penetration, and sprinkler water to reach the levels below, while the face-to-back channel support resists sagging under load. Standard 46 in x 42 in panels fit 48 in beams; custom sizes are available.

- Sprinkler penetration. The open grid lets water from overhead sprinklers reach the levels below instead of being blocked by a solid deck - the main reason warehouses replace timber panels with wire mesh.

- Corrosion resistance. Hot-dip galvanizing at 60 g/m2 or above suits cold storage, freezers, and humid environments where painted decks and timber panels degrade.

- Face-to-back support. The FTB channel spans the full deck depth, which resists sagging under heavy or uneven loads.

- Visibility and airflow. Light passes through the mesh, stock is easier to identify from floor level, and air circulates freely around the load.

- Hygienic and cleanable. Unlike timber panels, galvanized wire does not absorb moisture and can be washed and sanitised.

- Consistent welds. Robotic fusion welding delivers uniform joint strength across the panel rather than variable manual welds.

- Cold chain and freezers: the open mesh limits ice buildup and supports temperature consistency throughout the rack.
- Food and beverage: easy to clean and sanitise; will not absorb moisture or harbour the contamination issues associated with timber panels.
- Automotive and manufacturing: the 2,000 kg rating handles heavy, irregular parts safely.
- General warehousing: allows small cartons to be stored on pallet racking without falling through the beam span.

Panels are built to a 1.65:1 safety factor and manufactured to RMI (Rack Manufacturers Institute) standards. The 2,000 kg rating applies to a uniformly distributed load on a correctly seated panel - concentrated point loads, damaged panels, and incorrectly sized decks all reduce safe capacity.

The open mesh supports sprinkler water distribution to lower levels. Whether a given installation meets fire code is determined by your local fire authority and insurer; we can supply mesh size and open-area data for that review.

We recommend periodic inspection and replacement of panels showing bent wires, cracked welds, or coating loss.
