Routine maintenance of pallet racks

Oct 11, 2025

1. Collision Prevention: Reduce External Damage

Install anti-collision strips/posts at the bottom of the uprights and along the aisle sides to prevent forklift collisions.

Properly operate forklifts, maintaining a safe distance of at least 30cm from the racking system; avoid rough handling.

Handle goods gently; do not throw them onto pallets to reduce impact on the beams.

2. Structural Inspection: Regularly Identify Potential Hazards

Weekly: Check beam clips/bolts for looseness, shelf deformation, and upright tilting.

Monthly: Tighten loose connections and use a spirit level to calibrate upright verticality (deviation ≤1mm/m).

Quarterly: Check welds for cracks and powder coating damage; promptly grind and repaint rust spots.

3. Load Control: Eliminate Overloading Risks

Affix load-bearing labels to each shelf, strictly adhere to rated loads, and avoid concentrating heavy goods in one area.

Allow a 20% safety margin in actual use; avoid long-term full-load storage.

Unauthorized addition of shelves or modification of the shelving structure (such as cutting or increasing height) is prohibited.

4. Environmental and Detail Maintenance

Keep the warehouse well-ventilated and dry, avoid water accumulation on the floor to prevent steel corrosion.

Regularly clean pallets and shelving gaps of debris to avoid affecting structural load-bearing capacity.

Do not pile unrelated items in the shelving area, and do not obstruct safety passages and signage.
